Copper View Animal Hospital is seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to assist veterinarians in examinations, surgeries, and a variety of medical procedures. Qualifications

  • Requires experience as a veterinary technician in a clinical setting.
  • Associate degree in veterinary technology or related field preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of veterinary medicine and anesthesia protocols.
  • Excellent technical skills with medications, lab tests, and medical equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians with examinations, surgeries and procedures.
  • Perform diagnostic tests: bloodwork, urinalysis, radiographs.
  • Prepare samples for laboratories.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Restrain and handle dogs and cats safely.
  • Monitor anesthesia during procedures and provide post-operative care.
  • Fill prescriptions as requested by veterinarians.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs and bend, stoop, twist, kneel as needed.
  • Educate clients on pet care and medications under supervision of veterinarians.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Assist in training and supervision of veterinary assistants and staff.
  • Keep clinic clean, organized and stocked with supplies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic tests, such as bloodwork, urinalysis, and radiographs.
  • Prepare samples to be sent out to laboratories.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians.
  • Proper restraint and handling of dogs and cats.
  • Monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures and provide post-operative care to patients.
  • Fill prescriptions as requested by veterinarians.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, bend, stoop, twist, and kneel for extended periods of time.
  • Educate clients on proper pet care, medication administration, and preventive health measures, as overseen by veterinarians.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with veterinary regulations.
  • Assist with the training and supervision of veterinary assistants and other support staff.
  • Keep the clinic clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree or higher in veterinary technology or a related field a plus.
  • Previous experience working as a veterinary technician in a clinical setting is required.
  • Strong knowledge of veterinary medicine.
  • Knowledge of surgical techniques and anesthesia protocols.
  • Excellent technical skills, including proficiency in administering medications, performing laboratory tests, and operating medical equipment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • High School Diploma/GED.
