Job summary

Pasadena Veterinary Urgent Care is seeking a Veterinary Assistant/Veterinary Technician for our brand-new daytime urgent care hospital in Pasadena, CA. You will assist veterinarians in examinations and treatments, perform technical tasks, and ensure compassionate, efficient care for pets and families.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a veterinary clinic, animal hospital, or similar setting.
• Proficiency in technical skills such as restraint, sample collection, and patient monitoring.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Passion for animals and a commitment to compassionate care.
• Familiarity with veterinary practice management software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Administering medications and vaccinations.
• Collecting diagnostic samples (e.g., blood, urine, feces).
• Taking radiographs and performing laboratory tests.
• Triage incoming patients and provide initial assessments.
• Monitor patients during treatments or recovery.
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding their pets' care and treatment plans.
• Maintain a clean and organized treatment and work area.
• Participate in special projects, process improvements, and additional assignments as directed by hospital leadership to support the growth and operations of the practice.

Schedule

40 hours/week
