BluePearl Pet Hospital in Langhorne, PA is seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our ICU team. This full-time role requires flexibility to work nights and weekends in a fast-paced emergency setting.

You will induce, monitor and recover anesthesia, triage emergencies, perform digital radiography, and assist with critical patient care while mentoring teammates.

Qualifications

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients.
• Triage emergency cases and obtain vitals (temp, HR, RR, BP).
• Perform digital radiography with proper positioning.
• Understand normal ranges for vitals and alert Vet when changes occur.
• Place IV catheters and perform phlebotomy when needed.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases as they arrive, obtaining vitals.
• Perform digital radiography with correct technique and positioning.
• Maintain understanding of normal vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes.
• Identify at-risk patients and initiate CPR when necessary.
• Calculate medical dosing and administer medications.
• Place feeding tubes and central lines as needed.
• Mentor and train coworkers with a patient-centered approach.
• Address client concerns with empathy and clear communication.

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Langhorne, PA is hiring a Veterinary Technician to work in our ICU!

Schedule: 3 x 12hrs OR 4 x 10hrs:

Pay: $21.00 - $43.00 / hour

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency leveling system.

We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends. Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum. For example:

• Mon - Fri: 6pm to 8am = $3.50 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.00 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $3.50 Shift Differential

We are hiring an exceptional Veterinary Technician to join our team. If you enjoy patient care and working in a fast-paced, challenging, interesting, and collaborative environment, this is a full-time position that requires flexibility to work nights and weekends and holidays.

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.
• H ave a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
• Are proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.
• Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.
