Job summary

AmeriVet's Wells Dog and Cat Hospital in Wells, Maine, seeks an Experienced Veterinary Technician to join a supportive, pet‑loving team. Ideal candidates are dependable, detail‑oriented, and experienced with rooming, surgical assisting, bloodwork, and client education.

You will assist veterinarians, safely handle and restrain animals, collect samples, and keep accurate records. No weekends or late evenings; competitive pay based on experience. AmeriVet provides CE programs and career development.

Who We’re Looking For:

We’re currently looking to hire an Experienced Veterinary Technicianto join our team! The ideal candidate will be a dependable, detail-oriented team player who loves pets and being part of a fun, supportive team. They will have experience rooming patients, surgical assisting experience and knowledge of equipment used, drawing blood and running bloodwork, knowledge of x-rays and proper positioning, experience with proper animal handling and restraint, understanding the importance of client education, and being a positive and motivating team member.

Requirements:

• Experienced as a Veterinary Technician

• Knowledge of industry tools and equipment is a plus. Experience working with these tools is even better

• Passion for working with animals and their owners

• Ability to learn proper animal handling, fear-free training, and restraint

• Ability to learn common treatments and processes normally found in a veterinary hospital setting

• Excellent communication and ability to gain strong organizational skills

Pay Range: $25.00 based on experience.

No weekends and no late evening shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience as a veterinary technician or assistant.

• Strong animal handling skills and knowledge of clinical procedures.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT, RVT, or LVT) preferred – or eligibility to obtain licensure based on state requirements.

• Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required.
