Veterinary Technician

Location: 5307 Hwy 70 W, Morehead City, NC 28557

Salary: $17.00–$20.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, certifications, licensure, and location. Schedule: Four 10‑hour shifts, Monday‑Friday. Hospital is closed on weekends, but some boarding/kennel shifts are required.

Qualifications & Responsibilities

• NC state RVT license strongly preferred, but not required
• 1+ year of veterinary clinical experience as a veterinary assistant or technician
• Understands the importance of excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
• Passion for working with animals and their owners
• Familiarity with Cornerstone or ProVet preferred
• Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
• Experience with proper animal handling and restraint of a variety of species
• Ability to perform nursing care in a veterinary hospital setting
• Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
• Basic understanding of common medications, vaccinations, and preventatives
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments per doctor orders
• Assist veterinarians and technicians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures
• Ensure a clean, safe and organized work environment
