• Assist with ultrasound, X rays and other diagnostics.
• Explain discharge instructions and preventive care to pet owners.

Vets and Pets Pet Hospital in Martinsburg, West Virginia, is seeking a compassionate, capable Veterinary Technician to make a meaningful difference for pets and the people who love them. Our ideal candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills and be available for an occasional Saturday.Duties including but not limited to animal restraint, caring for hospitalized patients, client education, assisting doctors in appointments and various other duties. You will contribute directly to quality patient care while building relationships with an engaged team that appreciates your expertise, judgment, and dedication.

What You Will Do:

• Support veterinarians with preventive care, internal medicine, surgery, critical care, and patient triage while delivering calm, attentive animal care.
• Monitor anesthesia and patient recovery, recognize changes in condition, and help maintain safe, efficient surgical procedures.
• Place IV catheters, perform venipuncture, collect samples, administer medications, and assist with diagnostic testing.
• Use your lab experience to prepare and process samples, support accurate records, and help the medical team make informed treatment decisions.
• Assist with ultrasound, X rays, catheterization, and other diagnostic procedures that help provide thorough patient care.
• Communicate clearly with pet owners during discharge planning, helping them understand medications, home care instructions, and preventive care recommendations.
• Maintain complete medical records and bring an organized, team-focused approach to each patient visit.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 years of veterinary experience
• Experience with Veterinary software programs
• High school diploma or equivalent
