Littleton Animal Hospital in Littleton is seeking a full-time Veterinary Technician to join a collaborative, growth-focused team. You will assist veterinarians, triage patients, and provide compassionate nursing care from intake through discharge in a three-doctor small animal and exotic practice.

Qualifications

• Credentialed Veterinary Technician status preferred.
• Strong technical skills including venipuncture and IV catheter placement.
• Experience with anesthesia monitoring and surgical support preferred.
• Must be organized and provide attentive care in a fast-paced clinic.
• Excellent communication with clients, veterinarians and team members.
• Desire for growth and learning in veterinary medicine.

Responsibilities

• Triage patients and collect medical histories, vital signs, and initial assessments.
• Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, diagnostic procedures, and appointments.
• Provide nursing care from intake to discharge.
• Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and fluids.
• Monitor hospitalized patients and manage post-operative care.
• Educate clients on medications, home care and preventive services.
• Maintain accurate medical records and clean, organized work areas.

What Our Veterinary Technicians Do

• Triage patients and collect thorough medical histories, vital signs, and initial assessments
• Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, diagnostic procedures, and medical appointments
• Provide compassionate nursing care from patient intake through discharge
• Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, treatments, and fluid therapy as directed
• Perform venipuncture, intravenous catheter placement, and diagnostic sample collection
• Process laboratory samples and assist with in-house diagnostic procedures
• Monitor hospitalized and recovering patients using temperature, pulse, respiration, pain scoring, and other nursing assessments
• Provide wound care and supportive nursing treatments
• Assist with surgical preparation, anesthesia, patient monitoring, and recovery
• Maintain excellent patient safety standards throughout anesthetic and surgical procedures
• Educate clients about medications, discharge instructions, preventive care, and at-home patient needs
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients, veterinarians, and fellow team members
• Maintain accurate and complete medical records
• Help keep treatment areas, equipment, and supplies clean, organized, and ready for use

What Our Veterinary Technicians Bring

• Credentialed Veterinary Technician status as a CVT, LVT, or RVT is preferred
• Experienced veterinary assistants and non-credentialed veterinary technicians are also encouraged to apply
• Strong technical skills, including venipuncture, intravenous catheter placement, and laboratory procedures
• Anesthesia monitoring and surgical support experience is preferred
• The ability to remain organized and provide attentive care in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Strong communication and client service skills
