Veterinary Technician – Thrive Pet Healthcare – Katy, TX
Full‑time position, 30‑40 hours per week, including day, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.

Passionate about animal care, highly motivated, detail‑oriented, and able to work side by side with veterinarians during procedures.
Job Duties
- Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
- Assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow across all hospital functions.
- Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with the state Veterinary Practice Act for credentialed veterinary technicians.
- Monitor and assess patient status.
- Collect blood and other samples for testing.
- Place catheters.
- Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments.
- Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
- Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
- Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
- Guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.
Experience & Skills Requirements
- Veterinary technician licensure preferred but not required.
- 1–2 years of clinical experience.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an AVMA‑accredited veterinary technology program preferred; equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be acceptable.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, squat, reach, stand, and walk throughout the day.
