Job summary

San Juan Animal Hospital in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our collaborative, fast-paced team that values exceptional patient care and client service.

You will assist veterinarians during exams, procedures, lab work, radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring, while documenting medical records and educating clients on preventive care.

Qualifications

• Previous veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience required.
• CVT, LVT, or RVT credentials welcomed but not required.
• Strong patient handling, clinical skills, and teamwork.
• Excellent communication and client service abilities.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Compassionate, dependable, and eager to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assisting veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures
• Obtaining patient histories and maintaining medical records
• Collecting laboratory samples and performing in-house diagnostics
• Placing IV catheters and performing venipuncture
• Administering medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
• Monitoring anesthesia and patient recovery
• Taking and processing digital radiographs
• Educating clients on preventive care and treatment plans
• Properly restraining patients to ensure safety
• Maintaining a clean, organized treatment area
• Collaborating with the team to provide exceptional care

What You'll Do

As a Veterinary Technician, you\'ll work closely with our veterinarians to provide exceptional patient care while supporting a wide variety of medical and surgical procedures.

Responsibilities Include

What We're Looking For

• Previous veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience required
• CVT, LVT, or RVT credentials are welcomed but not required
• Strong patient handling and technical skills
• Surgical and anesthesia monitoring experience is a plus
• Excellent communication and client service skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
