Job summary

Royer Veterinary Services in Worthington, IN is seeking a Full-Time Veterinary Technician to join our compassionate team. You will assist veterinarians in exams, surgeries, and anesthesia, collect samples, run tests, and monitor patient recovery.

You will also educate pet owners on medications, nutrition, and aftercare. The role requires the completion of a veterinary tech program and current credential, with a focus on accurate record-keeping and high-quality patient care in a busy clinic

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited veterinary technician program and state credential.
  • Experience assisting veterinarians with exams, treatments, surgeries, and anesthesia preferred.
  • Ability to collect samples and perform routine laboratory tests is required.

We are currently seeking a **Full-Time Veterinary Technician** to join our team! ## Essential Duties and Responsibilities* Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, surgeries, and other medical procedures.* Obtain and record patient histories, vital signs, weights, and other clinical information.* Collect and prepare blood, urine, fecal, and other laboratory samples.* Perform routine laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures as directed.* Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments under veterinary supervision.* Prepare patients for surgery and monitor them before, during, and after procedures.* Monitor anesthesia, vital signs, and patient recovery.* Provide appropriate animal restraint and ensure patient safety and comfort.* Maintain clean, sanitary, and organized treatment and surgical areas.* Operate and maintain veterinary medical equipment.* Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.* Assist with radiographs and other diagnostic imaging procedures.* Educate pet owners about medications, nutrition, preventive care, post-treatment instructions, and general animal health.* Monitor hospitalized patients and communicate changes in condition to the veterinarian.* Provide compassionate care and handling of animals while minimizing stress.* Follow established safety, infection-control, and animal-care protocols.* Perform other duties as assigned by the veterinarian or practice manager.At AmeriVet, we’re committed to your growth, development, well-being, and success.
