Job summary

Short Pump Animal Hospital in Glen Allen, VA, is hiring a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician to provide skilled patient care and excellent client service. You will support veterinarians with exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.

The ideal candidate is licensed (LVT), compassionate with animals, proficient in lab work, radiographs, injections, IV catheter placement, and client communication. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, PTO, and a 401(k).

Qualifications

• Licensed Vet Tech (LVT) certification required.
• Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
• Knowledge of common disease states and alert vets to changes in patient conditions.
• Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
• Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion.
• Communicate clearly with clients, including care instructions and status updates.
• Perform technical duties such as lab work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
• Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
• Help keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
• Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines at all times.

Salary: $25.00-$32.00 per hour dependent on skills and experience, $1000 sign on bonus

Schedule: Tuesday- Friday 10 hour shifts, no weekends!
