Job summary

Lovejoy Veterinary Hospital & Urgent Care in Boston’s historic North End is hiring full-time Veterinary Technicians to support veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.

The ideal candidate brings animal care experience, strong client communication, and knowledge of standard veterinary procedures, with a passion for improving pets' lives. Expect a collaborative, growing team opening in October 2026.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
• Knowledge of common disease states and ability to alert veterinarians to changes.
• Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
• Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion.
• Communicate clearly with clients, including care instructions and status updates.
• Perform technical duties such as lab work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
• Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
• Help keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
• Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines at all times.

Veterinary Technician

Salary: $29 - $35 per hour, determined by the candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications.

Schedule: The hospital is open 8 a.m.–9 p.m., seven days a week, evenings and rotating weekends required.

Lovejoy Veterinary Hospital & Urgent Care is hiring a full-time Veterinary Technicians to provide skilled care to our patients and exceptional service to our clients.Our ideal candidate has experience in animal care, client communication, and veterinary procedures, with a passion for improving the lives of pets and their owners.

We’re building a brand-new team for our general practice and urgent care hospital opening in October 2026, and we’re excited to add passionate Veterinary Technicians to our lineup!
