BluePearl is seeking an experienced Relief Veterinary Technician to support our Emergency and ICU departments in the United States. This per diem role offers flexible scheduling in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of veterinary technician experience.
• Emergency and/or ICU experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

• Compassionate, patient-focused approach with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Triage emergency cases, including obtaining and assessing vital signs.
• Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia using appropriate monitoring equipment.
• Perform digital radiography with proper positioning and hands-free technique.
• Monitor patient status and alert veterinarians to changes or concerns.
• Identify patients at risk of arrest and initiate CPR when needed.
• Calculate and administer medications, including constant rate infusions (CRIs).
• Perform phlebotomy and place IV catheters in peripheral vessels.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Maintain a strong understanding of normal vs. abnormal patient parameters.
• Support and mentor team members as needed.
• Provide empathetic, clear communication to clients.

We are seeking an experienced Relief Veterinary Technician to support our Emergency and ICU departments. This role is ideal for skilled technicians looking for flexible scheduling while working in a fast-paced, collaborative, and high-acuity environment.

Position Details:

• Relief (per diem) status with a minimum shift requirement per quarter


• Primarily weekend shifts, with select set schedules available


• Includes one rotating holiday per year
