Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Des Moines, IA, is hiring Veterinary Technicians for mid-shift or overnight hours. If you are passionate about enriching lives through remarkable care for pets and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative hospital environment, this full-time role may be for you.

You will triage patients, obtain histories, assist with CPR, place IVs and advanced catheters, monitor ventilator cases, and work alongside skilled teammates to deliver advanced medicine.

Qualifications

• Triage and obtain patient history.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Place IV catheters and advanced catheters (Jugular, Central Lines, PICC).
• Monitor and care for ventilator cases.
• Collaborate with technicians and assistants to deliver advanced medicine.
• Mentor and train co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
• Support clinicians in delivering high-quality veterinary medicine.

As a Veterinary Technician , you will:

• Triage and obtain patient history


• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR


• Place IVC's and advanced catheters like Jugular catheters, Central Lines or PICC lines.


• Monitor and care for Ventilator Cases


• Work alongside other skilled technicians and assistants in providing excellent, advanced medicine to your patients


• Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.


• Feel gratification of nursing critically ill patients back to health and reunite them with their pet parents
