Job summary

Commonwealth Animal Hospital in Auburndale (Newton), MA, is seeking an Experienced Veterinary Assistant to join a collaborative, progressive team. You will assist veterinarians with anesthesia, surgical procedures, and patient care, supporting excellent service in a state-of-the-art practice.

The role requires strong anesthesia and surgical nursing experience, excellent communication, and a compassionate approach to animals and clients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience with anesthesia and surgical nursing is essential.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills are important.

Responsibilities

• Assist with anesthesia, including calculations and monitoring.
• Intubate patients and support anesthesia procedures.
• Place and monitor IV catheters; prepare patients for surgery.
• Perform surgical nursing duties and assist with patient intake/discharge.
• Rotate between inpatient and outpatient care; collaborate with veterinarians.
