Job summary

Points East Veterinary Specialty Hospital of Wilson is seeking a Veterinary Specialty Surgery Manager to lead the daily operations of our established surgery department in Wilson, North Carolina. Working with two board-certified surgeons, you will coordinate workflow, develop the team, and maintain systems for efficient surgical care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years in specialty surgery or anesthesia required.
• RVT strongly preferred; leadership experience desirable.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational, time management and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support the surgery technician team, coordinating scheduling, training, and feedback.
• Serve as daily operational resource for the department and improve systems.
• Coordinate daily case flow, surgical prep, and staffing for surgeons and patients.
• Develop and maintain consistent departmental workflows and buy-in.
• Collaborate with two board-certified surgeons to deliver high-quality services.
• Provide direct clinical care and technical assistance with surgical cases as needed.
• Oversee surgical suite cleanliness, instrument prep, and inventory readiness.
• Act as liaison between surgery and other hospital services.
• Assist with client communication and case logistics with the team.
• Champion a positive culture and lead by example; support professional growth.
