Job summary

AVETS in Monroeville, Pennsylvania seeks a board-certified or residency-trained Veterinary Surgeon who is passionate about practicing high-level surgical medicine within a collaborative specialty and emergency team.

As a VECCS Level I facility, AVETS offers four surgical suites, advanced imaging, and cross-disciplinary collaboration with Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Oncology, Neurology and Exotics to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care across Western Pennsylvania and the tri-state

Qualifications

• Board certification in surgery or residency training in small animal surgery.
• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state licensure.
• Strong communication and client-centered approach.
• Collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

• Balance surgical consultations, diagnostic workups, procedures, and post-operative care.
• Perform orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries using advanced imaging and endoscopy.
• Collaborate with Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Oncology, Neurology, and Emergency Services.
• Utilize CT, MRI, ultrasound and endoscopy to support planning and treatment.
• Mentor staff and grow the surgical service in line with hospital priorities.
