PetVet Care Centers Montecito Pet Hospital in Santa Barbara, CA is seeking a Care Coordinator to join our team. The role focuses on delivering exceptional administrative and client support in a busy veterinary setting, closely aligned with roles like Veterinary Receptionist or Client Care Specialist.

The position offers full-time hours with a day shift (8AM–5PM) and opportunities for growth within a national network of hospitals that values a culture of care for pets, clients, and team members.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of clerical procedures and ability to organize files and records.
• Excellent customer service and cash handling skills.
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift pets up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service in-person and over the phone.
• Manage lobby flow, address concerns, calm distressed owners, and schedule appointments.
• Handle basic medical emergencies for pets and owners, ensuring safety and wellbeing.
• Assist with medication pickups, inquiries, and information about services and products.
• Input data in practice management software, including billing and accounts.
• Assist with retail sales, weighing pets, processing faxes, and maintaining records.
• Reconcile cash drawer and perform end-of-day duties for accurate financial transactions.

Position Overview

Join our team as a Care Coordinator who contributes to the success of a high-performing organization committed to delivering superior care and exceptional service. Performs a range of administrative and customer service tasks, providing valuable support to the hospital. Within the veterinary field, this position aligns closely with roles often titled Veterinary Receptionist, Customer Service Representative, or Client Care Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service in-person, over the phone, and during high-stress situations.
• Manages lobby flow, addresses concerns, calms distressed owners, and schedules appointments.
• Handles basic medical emergencies for pets and owners, ensuring safety and well-being.
• Assists with medication pickups, inquiries, and provides information about services and products.
• Inputs and manages data in practice management software, including billing and accounts.
• Assists with retail sales, weighing pets, processing faxes, and maintaining records.
• Reconciles cash drawer and performs end-of-day duties for accurate financial transactions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, or equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience
• Knowledge of clerical procedures and ability to organize files and records
• Excellent customer service skills, providing courteous and prompt assistance
• Accurate cash handling and cashiering abilities
• Strong multitasking skills with attention to detail
• Flexibility in scheduling
• Ability to work at a keyboard or workstation for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, climbing, and lifting animals up to 50 pounds
• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position

Schedule

• Full-Time, Day Shift
• Monday through Friday from 8AM to 5PM

Pay Range

$18 — $20 USD
