Job description

Springtown Veterinary Hospital is located in San Marcos, TX, and has been serving the community for 30 years. We are an AAHA-accredited, full-service animal hospital providing veterinary care to dogs and cats, including routine medical, surgical, and dental services.

As a Receptionist, you will:
  1. Receive and make calls to clients for scheduling.
  2. Prioritize multiple tasks in a calm, organized manner.
  3. Maintain proper documentation through client and pet records.
  4. Assist clients by providing instructions, information, invoices, dispensing prescriptions, and scheduling appointments.
  5. Utilize hospital computer systems for record-keeping and communication.
  6. Manage hospital finances, including client transactions and cash handling.
  7. Provide excellent customer service and professional communication.
  8. Educate clients on pet health, preventative care, and hospital services.
  9. Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate empathy and compassion towards clients and pets.
  10. Use standard office equipment and veterinary software (preferred).
  11. Have a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  12. Possess organizational skills, critical thinking, and good judgment.
  13. Communicate effectively in verbal and written form.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Experience with veterinary software (preferred).
  • Ability to work independently and accept direction.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work some weekends and holidays.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Pay range: $12.35-$20.90/hour based on experience.
