Job description

Old Town Veterinary Hospital is located in Georgetown, TX. We are a full-service animal hospital offering services such as routine medical, surgical, and dental care to dogs and cats. As a Receptionist, you will:
  1. Receive and place calls to clients for scheduling.
  2. Prioritize multiple tasks in a calm, organized manner.
  3. Maintain proper documentation through client and pet records, including referral documentation and medical history.
  4. Assist clients by providing instructions, information, invoices, dispensing prescriptions as directed by the veterinarian, and scheduling future appointments.
  5. Use hospital computer systems to document medical records and communicate with clients and teammates.
  6. Manage hospital finances by maintaining accurate balances, collecting transactions, and following cash handling procedures.
  7. Provide excellent customer service and communicate professionally.
  8. Educate clients on pet health, preventative care, and hospital services.
  9. Maintain a positive attitude with clients, pets, and teammates.
  10. Show empathy and treat pets with compassion and respect.
  11. Utilize standard office equipment.
  12. Possess knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures.
  13. Have a flexible schedule, including some weekends and holidays.
  14. Experience with veterinary software is preferred.
  15. Work independently and accept direction on tasks.
  16. Organize tasks effectively.
  17. Apply critical thinking to solve problems.
  18. Communicate clearly and manage stressful situations.
