Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in NE Portland (Hollywood) is seeking an experienced, full-time Veterinary Client Service Coordinator to join our daytime team. Schedule: Wednesday-Saturday, 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM. Pay: $20 - $28 / hour.

You will be the first associate clients see and ensure compassionate, efficient service. As a Veterinary Receptionist, you will greet clients, assess needs, and connect them with the appropriate team member, while offering emotional support and ensuring accurate appointment

Qualifications

  • Greet clients warmly and provide professional acknowledgement at the hospital entry.
  • Communicate clearly and calmly with clients in person and by phone.
  • Assess each client's needs upon arrival and determine emergency vs standard.
  • Offer emotional support and resources to grieving clients.
  • Serve as liaison between clients and hospital teams.

Responsibilities

  • Greet clients and ensure accurate appointment information.
  • Provide compassionate listening and guidance to clients during visits.
  • Route non-patient calls or visitors to the appropriate team member.
  • Confirm appointments and help clients prepare their pet for visits.
  • Assist in coordinating care and follow-up communications as needed.

BluePearl Pet Hospital in NE Portland (Hollywood) is seeking an experienced, full-time Veterinary Client Service Coordinator to join our daytime team!

Schedule: Wednesday-Saturday, 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Pay: $20 - $28 / hour

At BluePearl Pet Hospital, our Veterinary Receptionists are imperative to the success of our hospital. In this position, you are the first BluePearl Associate that the client sees. You will ensure that each client receives the care and attention that they need. You will need to be able to function calmly and compassionately in situations that can be very emotional and difficult for our clients.

As a Veterinary Receptionist:
  • You will greet and make friendly eye contact every time our hospital entry door opens to offer the individual warm and professional acknowledgement.
  • You are always offering a friendly smile, strong eye contact and an approachable demeanor.
  • You are a compassionate listener.
  • You speak clearly, slowly, and calmly in person and on the telephone in a way that clients easily understand.
  • You will assess immediately upon arrival each client's rare need, as well as the pet's general condition.
  • You will determine whether an emergency arrival is a "stat" versus "standard" emergency.
  • You will respond to non-patient calls or visitors and connect them to the appropriate team member.
  • You are responsible for confirming all appointments in advance ensuring clients receive accurate information about preparing their pet for the appointment.
  • You will offer emotional support and resource materials to grieving clients in a compassionate and discreet manner.
  • You serve as a liaison between clients and service agencies during handling of pet remains by ensuring a complete, accurate, and compassionate process.
