Job Description: Receptionist at Marina Hills Animal Hospital

As a full-service veterinary office, we offer state-of-the-art testing and diagnostics, an array of advanced care, routine and advanced surgical procedures, and many other services to provide your pet with the best possible care.

Responsibilities of a Receptionist:
  1. Receive and place calls to clients for scheduling.
  2. Prioritize multiple tasks in a calm, organized manner.
  3. Maintain proper documentation through client and pet records, such as referral documentation and medical history.
  4. Assist clients by providing instructions, information, invoices, dispensing prescriptions as per veterinarian’s instructions, and scheduling future appointments.
  5. Utilize hospital computer systems to document medical records and communicate with clients and team members.
  6. Manage the hospital's financial transactions by maintaining accurate balances, collecting payments, and following cash and credit procedures.
  7. Provide excellent customer service and communicate professionally.
  8. Educate clients on pet health, preventative care, and hospital services to advocate for pets.
  9. Maintain a positive attitude and show empathy toward clients and pets.
  10. Utilize standard office equipment.
  11. Have knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and procedures.
  12. Be flexible with schedule, including some weekends and holidays.
  13. Experience with veterinary software is preferred.
  14. Work independently and accept instructions.
  15. Possess organizational skills and critical thinking abilities.
  16. Communicate effectively and manage stressful situations.
Additional Details:
  • Pay range: $15.35 - $25.70/hour based on experience.
