Job summary

AVIM&O in Hunt Valley, Maryland is seeking a Veterinary Radiologist to join a collaborative specialty team. You will interpret CT, MRI, ultrasound, radiographs, and fluoroscopy to support diagnostic workflows across multiple services and collaborate with colleagues and referring veterinarians.

The role emphasizes mentorship, ongoing education, and expanding advanced imaging capabilities. This is a full-time position with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state licensure.
  • Board Certification in Radiology (ACVR) or residency-trained in Veterinary Radiology.
  • Strong communication and client-centered approach; collaborative team player.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret CT, MRI, ultrasound, radiography and fluoroscopy for diagnostic workups across services.
  • Collaborate with Internal Medicine, Surgery, Cardiology, Neurology, Oncology and ER/CC.
  • Provide timely diagnostic reporting and consultation for patient care and referrals.
  • Utilize Toshiba AQUILION CT, GE MRI, Canon ultrasound, and digital radiography systems.
  • Develop, refine and standardize imaging protocols to improve outcomes.
  • Mentor veterinarians, technicians and students on imaging best practices.
  • Participate in rounds, journal clubs and continuing education activities.
  • Contribute to growth of advanced imaging services across AVIM&O and CVRC.

As part of Chesapeake Veterinary Referral Center (CVRC), you'll collaborate with specialists in Surgery, Cardiology, Neurology, Ophthalmology, Radiation Oncology, Advanced Imaging, and a VECCS Level II Emergency & Critical Care service with a 24/7 ICU. Our growing network also includes locations in Annapolis, Columbia, and Hunt Valley, creating opportunities for collaboration across multiple specialty teams.

The anticipated starting base salary range for individuals expressing interest in this position is $200,000 to $250,000 per year.

In your day-to-day, you will:
  • Interpret a wide range of imaging modalities including CT, MRI, ultrasound, radiography, and fluoroscopy to support diagnostic workups across multiple specialty services.
  • Collaborate closely with Internal Medicine, Surgery, Cardiology, Neurology, Oncology, Emergency & Critical Care, and other specialists to integrate imaging findings into comprehensive case management plans.
  • Provide timely diagnostic reporting and consultation to support efficient patient care, referral communication, and clinical decision-making.
  • Utilize advanced imaging technologies including Toshiba AQUILION AQ 64 CT, GE 1.5T MRI, Canon APLIO ultrasound systems, and digital radiography to deliver high-quality diagnostic services.
  • Help develop, refine, and standardize imaging protocols that support clinical excellence and optimize patient outcomes.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for referring veterinarians and specialty colleagues by providing expert imaging interpretation and diagnostic guidance.
  • Mentor veterinarians, technicians, interns, students, and support staff on imaging best practices, image acquisition techniques, and interpretation principles.
  • Participate in interactive rounds, journal clubs, case discussions, and continuing education activities that foster collaboration and ongoing professional development.
  • Contribute to the continued growth of advanced imaging services across the AVIM&O and CVRC network.
  • Support a collaborative, patient-centered culture focused on innovation, learning, compassionate care, and clinical excellence.
What You Bring
