Job summary

Practice Manager – Thrive Pet Healthcare Urgent Care – Mesquite, TX

Role Responsibilities

Essential responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring a positive culture built on shared values and direct communication, creating operational efficiencies, and problem solving to improve client service and employee engagement.
  • Creating and maintaining a positive work environment in alignment with the hospital’s plan.
  • Developing and implementing practical programs.
  • Overseeing the business activities of the hospital, including hiring and training staff, working with leadership and finance to prepare and manage budgets, monitoring key performance indicators, setting fees, maintaining inventory and a control system, managing hospital software, and implementing safety and security procedures.
Experience & Skills Requirements
  • 3+ years of hospital management or supervisory experience in Veterinary Medicine.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business and/or equivalent business experience.
  • CVPM encouraged to apply.
  • Sound personal judgment in decision-making.
  • Capability to lead, manage, and coach staff at all levels.
  • Demonstrated competence in hiring, coaching, and disciplinary action.
  • Empathy toward clients and respectful treatment of animals.
  • Competence in budgeting and financial reporting, including reading and analyzing a P&L Statement.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Commitment to outstanding client service.
  • Solid math and Excel/spreadsheet skills.
  • Ability to lift objects weighing 40 pounds without assistance and lift heavier objects with assistance.
