Job summary

Caring Hands Veterinary Hospital, part of Thrive Pet Healthcare, is seeking a Veterinary Practice Manager in Thousand Oaks to lead hospital operations, drive client service, and foster a positive culture. You will oversee hiring, training, budgeting, inventory, and software systems while partnering with leadership to enhance efficiency and care.

Candidates should have hospital management or supervisory experience in veterinary medicine, a business degree, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hospital management or Supervisory experience in Veterinary Medicine.
• Bachelor's degree in business and/or equivalent business experience.
• CVPM encouraged to apply.
• Experience managing an ER veterinary healthcare.
• Sound personal judgment in decision-making.
• Capable of leading, managing, and coaching staff at all levels.
• Demonstrated competence in all aspects of staff management, including hiring, coaching and disciplinary action.
• Demonstrated ability to show empathy toward clients and treat animals with respect and compassion.
• Demands budgeting and financial reporting, including reading a P&L Statement.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• A commitment to outstanding client service.
• Solid math and Excel/spreadsheet skills.
• Ability to lift objects weighing 40 pounds without assistance and objects weighing more than 40 pounds with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the hospital's business activities, including hiring and training staff; work with leadership and finance to prepare and manage budgets; monitor and analyze KPIs; set fees; maintain inventory and an inventory control system; manage hospital software; implement safety and security procedures.
