Job summary

Arista Advanced Pet Care is seeking an Overnight Emergency Technician/Assistant to assist in triage, stabilization, and support for patients in the ER, ICU and related areas. You will work closely with the veterinary team to deliver high-quality care and communicate with pet owners about treatment plans.

The ideal candidate has emergency/critical care experience and a solid understanding of veterinary terminology, procedures, and equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• LVT, RVT or CVT license preferred but not required.
• Experience in ICU, emergency or specialty veterinary settings desirable.
• Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, procedures and equipment.
• Basic proficiency with medical software systems and record-keeping.
• Ability to lift and carry animals and equipment up to 50 pounds.
• Comfort working with potentially ill and difficult-to-handle animals.

Responsibilities

• Care for incoming emergency and hospitalized patients with ER/CC doctors.
• Utilize full technician skills including anesthesia monitoring and venipuncture.
• Collaborate with all hospital staff.
• Maintain ER and treatment area cleanliness.
• Communicate with pet owners about condition and treatment plan; log notes in medical records.

Veterinary Overnight Emergency Technician/Assistant

As an Emergency & Critical Care Technician, you will play an integral part in assessing/triaging patients, stabilizing incoming emergency patients and working closely with the veterinarian performing technical tasks and assisting in communications with pet owners, enabling our team to deliver exceptional medical care within the ER, ICU and other areas of the hospital. The ideal candidate will have experience in emergency and critical care, along with a strong understanding of patient care and monitoring.

• Working closely with ER and Critical Care doctors to care for both incoming emergency patients and hospitalized patients.
• Full technician skill utilization with anesthesia monitoring, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, multi-lumen catheter placement.
• Work collaboratively with all hospital staff.
• Ensure a clean environment in the ER and other treatment areas.
• Communicate effectively with pet owners about their pet’s condition and treatment plan, and log communications accurately in medical record.

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
