Job summary

Eye Specialists for Animals of Colorado Springs is seeking a second full-time veterinary ophthalmologist to join our Colorado Springs location. You will deliver the full spectrum of ophthalmic care, supported by experienced technicians and advanced diagnostics and surgical equipment in a referral-centered practice.

The ideal candidate holds a DVM or equivalent, board certification or eligibility with ACVO/ECVO, and an active Colorado license or ability to obtain it.

Eye Specialists for Animals is a well-established, highly respected group of veterinary ophthalmology practices serving pets and their families in Denver and Colorado Springs. Three experienced veterinary ophthalmologists currently practice across the two sites, providing a collaborative clinical environment with the breadth of a multi-doctor team. Patients and referring veterinarians throughout the region trust Eye Specialists for Animals for the full spectrum of specialized ophthalmic care.

We are seeking a second full-time veterinary ophthalmologist to join our Colorado Springs location — an exciting opportunity to expand our team’s capacity while working alongside established colleagues.

The Role

The Colorado Springs ophthalmologist will deliver the full spectrum of veterinary ophthalmic care within a well-resourced, established practice — supported by experienced technicians and access to advanced diagnostic and surgical equipment. Core responsibilities include:

• Diagnosis and medical management of complex ocular diseases across companion animal species
• Advanced ophthalmic surgery utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and techniques
• Urgent and emergency ophthalmic consultation in coordination with referring veterinarians and emergency hospitals
• Participation in hereditary and breed-specific ocular disease evaluation programs (OFA/CAER examinations)
• Building and maintaining strong collaborative relationships with primary care and specialty veterinary practices across the region
• Contributing to a collegial, multi-site team environment
• Mentorship and educational engagement with the referring veterinary community

Ideal Candidate

Required Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent degree from an AVMA-accredited college of veterinary medicine
• Board certification or board eligible upon completion of an ACVO/ECVO approved residency in veterinary ophthalmology
• Active Colorado veterinary license in good standing, or demonstrable ability to obtain licensure prior to start date
