Job summary

Pinnacle Veterinary Specialists is seeking a Veterinary Neurology Nurse to join our specialty team. The ideal candidate will provide advanced nursing care for neurologic patients from initial evaluation through diagnostics, treatment, and recovery, collaborating closely with our neurologist and veterinary team.

You will assist with exams, anesthesia, monitoring, and client education in a fast-paced, teaching-focused environment that values compassion and teamwork.

Qualifications

• CVT or 2+ years of veterinary nurse experience, preferably in a specialty or emergency setting.
• Anesthesia foundation is required, with ability to manage anesthetized patients.
• Enjoys cross-department collaboration and the fast pace of a specialty hospital.
• Comfortable assisting with ER procedures and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assist the neurologist with examinations, diagnostics, procedures, and treatments.
• Obtain thorough histories and perform comprehensive nursing assessments.
• Provide nursing care for medically complex neurologic patients.
• Monitor neurologic status and recognize changes needing immediate attention.
• Assist with advanced diagnostics including MRI, CT, radiographs, and CSF collection.
• Prepare patients for procedures and monitor anesthesia before, during, and after.
• Manage IV catheters, fluids, medications, and other treatments.
• Educate clients regarding patient care and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate medical records and collaborate with team members.
