Job summary

IDEXX North Grafton, MA is seeking a Microbiology Medical Laboratory Technician Culture Reader. You will perform lab tests and read results to support veterinarians with diagnose and treatment for pets, in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; science degree preferred.
• Experience in a high-volume laboratory.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Experience setting up, running, and reading lab tests; operating lab equipment.
• Positive attitude and teamwork.
• Able to meet physical requirements in a lab.

Responsibilities

• Extensive culture plate reading and interpretation.
• Strong knowledge of Microbiology.
• Microscopy interpretation including gram stain and acid-fast stain; recognition of bacteria, yeast, fungi and cells under microscopy.
• Use automated analyzers, microscopes and other lab diagnostic tools to perform analyses.
• Perform diagnostic tests on blood, urine, fecal or biopsy samples.
• Set up and run lab tests, then read and release results according to SOPs.
