Job summary

Peak Veterinary Referral Center in Williston, Vermont is seeking a Veterinary Medical Oncologist for a full-time position. Board-certified or residency-trained candidates are encouraged to apply to join our busy Oncology service in a state-of-the-art hospital, with a culture focused on education, mentorship, and clinical research.

You'll collaborate across specialties including Internal Medicine, Radiology, Surgery, and Critical Care, with opportunities for ultrasound/ECT training and clinical

Qualifications

  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree and Vermont licensure eligibility.
  • Residency in Medical Oncology completed.
  • Board certification or eligibility through ACVIM or ECVIM.
  • Strong communication skills with a client-centered approach.
  • Collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for cross-specialty teamwork.
  • Passion for continuous learning, education, mentorship, research, and advancing veterinary oncology.

Responsibilities

  • Manage oncology cases in collaboration with internal medicine, radiation oncology, surgery, and critical care.
  • Oversee chemotherapy protocols and ensure USP 800 safety compliance.
  • Support daily client communication, including treatment updates and triage.
  • Mentor chemotherapy-trained technicians, assistants, and support staff.
  • Pursue growth opportunities such as ultrasound training or clinical trial coordination.

In your day-to-day, you will:
  • Manage oncology cases in close collaboration with internal medicine, radiation oncology, surgery, and critical care
  • Oversee chemotherapy protocols and ensure compliance with USP 800 safety standards
  • Support daily client communication, including treatment updates, refills, and question triage
  • Mentor chemo-trained technicians, assistants, and support staff
  • Pursue growth opportunities such as ultrasound training, ECT training, or clinical trial coordination
What You Bring
  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for Vermont state veterinary licensure.
  • Completion of a residency in Medical Oncology.
  • Board Certification or eligibility for board certification through ACVIM or ECVIM.
  • Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach.
