Job summary

AmeriVet is seeking a Veterinary Medical Director in Peterborough, NH. The role combines clinical practice with leadership, guiding medical excellence and hospital performance while maintaining hands-on patient care.

You will mentor associates, develop standards, and collaborate with management to grow the team and ensure superb patient care and client service. Strong communication and leadership are essential for success.

Qualifications

• DVM/VMD or equivalent degree.
• Active veterinary license (NH) or ability to obtain.
• DEA registration (or ability to obtain).
• 3–5 years of small animal clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead as the clinical leader of the hospital while practicing medicine.
• Establish and uphold medical standards and best practices.
• Mentor and develop associate veterinarians through coaching and case collaboration.
• Foster a positive, collaborative hospital culture and support staff.
• Partner with the Practice Manager on hospital operations, scheduling, and initiatives.
• Help recruit and onboard future veterinarians to grow the team.
• Support continuous improvement in medical quality, client experience, and hospital performance.
