Desort is seeking an experienced Veterinary Medical Director in Arvada, CO to provide high-quality medical care while leading the clinical team. The role combines hands-on medicine with practice leadership, client communication, and compliance.

You will mentor veterinarians and technicians, ensure consistent patient care, and drive clinical quality. A DVM/VMD with an active license and leadership experience is required.

Qualifications

• DVM/VMD or equivalent degree from an accredited program.
• Active veterinary license or eligibility to obtain one.
• Prior leadership or team-management experience preferred.
• Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive veterinary examinations, diagnostics, medical, surgical, and dental procedures.
• Develop treatment plans and explain findings to clients.
• Maintain accurate patient records.
• Lead and develop associate veterinarians and clinical staff.
• Support continuing education and professional development.
• Oversee safety, compliance and controlled-substance records as applicable.
• Collaborate with practice leadership and veterinary professionals.
• Travel as needed.
