A full-service small animal hospital in Lakeland, TN is seeking a Medical Director to lead its veterinary team!
This is an exciting leadership opportunity for a veterinarian who wants to shape clinical standards, develop a team, and make a lasting impact on a respected general practice serving the Lakeland area of Memphis, and the wider Mid South.
Working closely with the Practice Manager and hospital leadership, you will guide medical standards, support hospital performance, and build a positive, collaborative culture. A key part of the role is recruiting and retaining great veterinarians, coaching and developing associates, and using data to guide decisions. Protected administrative time is built into the role so you can lead effectively whilst having dedicated time for clinic work.
The caseload is varied and rewarding, covering wellness and preventive care, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, rehabilitation, and urgent cases such as trauma, seizures, and GI emergencies. Flexible scheduling gives doctors autonomy over their procedural caseload and the freedom to work closely with clients on the best plan for every patient.
The hospital is impressively equipped with twelve exam rooms, four surgical tables, four dental stations, two treatment areas, hospitalization, digital radiography, digital dental radiography, ultrasound, and endoscopy.
This is a full-time position, with a consistent 4-day work week and occasional weekends (finishing by 2pm). The clinic closes at 6pm with considered scheduling so you can routinely finish on time. There are no out of hours or on-call requirements to this position.
You will join a supportive, teaching focused team where veterinarians routinely help one another and mentor veterinary externs, all backed by a loyal and growing client base.
