Job summary

Veritas Veterinary Partners is seeking a detail-oriented Veterinary Laboratory Technician to support our PESCM hospital in San Rafael, CA. You will perform testing, process specimens, and maintain quality control to ensure accurate results for patient care.

This role involves strict adherence to lab procedures, collaboration with veterinarians, and maintaining orderly records in a fast-paced clinical setting. Competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Previous veterinary, medical, or laboratory experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and computer skills.
• Experience with veterinary laboratory equipment and diagnostic testing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process laboratory samples and accurately enter results into the hospital information system.
• Prepare and submit specimens to outside reference and specialty laboratories.
• Perform routine quality control testing and maintenance on laboratory equipment.
• Maintain laboratory records, including temperature, shipping, and quality control logs.
• Receive, organize, and restock laboratory supplies.
• Communicate laboratory results and updates to veterinarians and support staff.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient laboratory environment.
• Support timely diagnostics and high-quality patient care through accurate laboratory procedures.

PESCM, located in San Rafael, is the only 24/7 veterinary hospital in Marin County, offering specialty services in Internal Medicine, Surgery, Neurology, Cardiology, Urgent Care, Emergency, Radiology, and Critical Care.

• Monday through Thursday, 11:00 AM to 9:30 PM
• Friday through Monday, 10:00 AM to 8:30 PM

Compensation

• $24.00 to $25.00 per hour , based on experience
• $3.00 per hour weekend differential
