Job summary

MedVet Medical & Cancer Centers for Pets is seeking an Operations Technician to manage hospital inventory, ensuring prescriptions, supplies, and equipment are available to deliver patient care. Responsibilities include creating purchase orders, receiving shipments, cycle counting, tracking backorders, stocking Central Supply, coding invoices, and maintaining inventory integrity in the hospital system.

Qualifications

• Inventory experience in a medical environment preferred.
• Works successfully as a team member and autonomously.

Responsibilities

• Creates and submits orders to centralized purchasing based on par levels.
• Facilitates local purchases as required.
• Collaborates with clinical managers to determine weekly orders.
• Tracks backorder products and short-dating items.
• Receives shipments and matches to purchase orders in the system.
• Delivers inventory to departments and maintains rotation and cleanliness.
• Communicates shipment issues to Purchasing for resolution.
• Codes vendor invoices for inventory received and payment.
• Performs daily cycle counts to maintain inventory integrity.
• Works with Operations Partner to analyze inventory variances.
• Maintains repair tickets for equipment in the asset system.
• Ensures compliance with DEA, SBOP, FDA, OSHA, etc.
• Maintains controlled substances inventory and audits.
• Coordinates transport needs between hospitals.
• Completes onboarding and new hire orientation tasks for Operations.
• Acts as hospital point of contact for operations during shifts.
