Atlantic Coast New York Veterinary Specialists in Bohemia, NY is seeking a compassionate Veterinary Internist to join our team. You will work with a multidisciplinary group including surgeons, internists, neurologists, dermatologists, and a dedicated ER team, providing high-quality care.

The role offers leadership opportunities, access to advanced diagnostics, and professional growth within a supportive culture. A state license, AVMA residency, and DEA registration are required.

Qualifications

• DVM or VMD from an AVMA-accredited college or university.
• 1-year rotational internship in small animal medicine, surgery, ER.
• Completed a 3-year AVMA approved residency program.
• Current State Veterinary License.
• DEA registration must be obtained and maintained.
• Strong diagnostic and clinical skills and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Comprehensive patient exams and medical work-ups.
• Client communication and education.
• Maintaining accurate medical records.
• Pharmacy duties including prescribing medications and CII protocols.
• Promote teamwork and staff efficiency.
• Collaborate with Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations.
• Monitor protocols from intake to discharge and daily rounds when possible.
