Job summary

Foothills Veterinary Hospital - South is offering a veterinary externship to provide hands-on clinical experience under supervision. Externs will work with a supervising veterinarian to gain skills in patient histories, exams, treatment planning, diagnostics, dentistry, and surgical observation or assistance.

Externships typically range two to eight weeks; travel/living expense stipends are available for externs participating in the clinical portion of their education.

Qualifications

• Veterinary students will gain hands-on experience under supervision.
• Externs will learn to gather histories, perform exams and create plans.
• Opportunities to observe or assist surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Gather patient histories and perform physical exams under supervision.
