Job summary

Highland Lakes Veterinary Clinic in Marble Falls, TX is offering a Veterinary Externship for DVM students. The program provides hands-on clinical exposure, mentorship, and real-world case experience in a busy small animal practice.

Location is Marble Falls, TX with a flexible duration of 2 to 4 weeks and a travel/living stipend of up to $1,500. Externs will work closely with associate veterinarians and participate in exams, diagnostics, procedures, and client communication.

Qualifications

• DVM students eligible for externship.

Responsibilities

• Performing physical exams and gathering patient histories.
• Developing diagnostic and treatment plans.
• Assisting with and observing surgical and dental procedures.
• Participating in diagnostics, case discussions, and medical care.
• Practicing client communication and teamwork with support staff.
• Observing the operations and daily flow of a small animal practice.
• Externs are encouraged to take initiative and become active participants in patient care.
