Job description

Overview

We are a group of sister hospitals that brings a large variety of skill sets and environments for Veterinary students. The Vinton location hosts several specialists, offering opportunities to observe advanced procedures in ultrasound, dentistry, nutrition, and more.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with supervising Associate Veterinarians to gather patient histories, perform physical examinations, and create treatment plans.
• Conduct diagnostics and dentistry services.
• Observe, assist, or perform surgical procedures.
• Manage the medical care of patients and practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.

Qualifications

Veterinary students (regardless of class year) eligible for the NVA externship, which ranges from two to eight weeks based on student and hospital schedules. Students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend.
