Job summary

Star Valley Veterinary Clinic in the Tampa area offers a fast-paced general practice externship for veterinary students in the clinical portion of their education. You will gain hands-on experience under a supervising veterinarian, including gathering histories, performing physical exams, creating treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry services, and observing or assisting with surgical procedures.

Job description

We are a fast-paced general practice facility that sees canine, feline and exotic patients. We offer dentistry, surgery, ultrasound, rehabilitation services and more. Located in the Tampa area with many outdoor activities to enjoy while not at the hospital!

Students will work closely with the supervising veterinarian to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creation of treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry services, observing/assisting or performing surgical procedures, and medical management of patients. In addition to practicing their clinical skills, student externs will have the opportunity to practice their communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.

Veterinary students who are in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend.
