Abqpetcarehospital in Stafford Township offers an externship experience for veterinary students to gain hands-on clinical skills by working closely with a supervising veterinarian. Duties include gathering patient histories, performing exams, and assisting in surgeries.

Most externship experiences at Stafford Veterinary Hospital range from two to eight weeks, depending on student and hospital schedules. All veterinary students (regardless of class year) are encouraged to participate.
