College Garden Animal Hospital is a well-established full-service small animal hospital with an exceptional team that enjoys having fun. We pride ourselves on making lasting connections with our patients and their families, and on delivering the highest standard of patient care through top-quality medicine. Our team provides support not only from within the hospital but also from our clients.

Students will work closely with supervising Associate Veterinarians to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creating treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry, observing or assisting with surgical procedures, and managing medical cases. This externship also offers an opportunity to improve communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.

Externship durations typically range from two to eight weeks, depending on schedules. All veterinary students, regardless of class year, are encouraged to participate. Students in the clinical phase of their education may be eligible for a travel/living expense stipend, with details available through provided links. College Garden also offers free housing to externs.
