Clarke Animal Hospital is a busy 4 DVM practice that keeps things interesting each day. We do surgery 4 days a week, and our DVMs enjoy utilizing diagnostics and engaging in our sick patient visits. Our location offers easy access to outdoor activities, being just minutes away from the shore of Lake Michigan.
Students will work closely with the supervising veterinarian to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creating treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry services, observing or assisting in surgical procedures, and medical management of patients. Additionally, externs will have opportunities to develop their communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
Externship durations typically range from two to eight weeks, depending on student and hospital schedules. These externships are only available to students in their final clinical year of veterinary school.
