Job description

Underwood Animal Clinic offers up to a $2500 travel stipend for 2025 clinical year externships.

Underwood Animal Clinic is a small, close-knit team dedicated to helping pets and educating their owners. We enjoy coming to work and celebrating each other's successes.

Students will work closely with the supervising veterinarian to gain experience in:

1. Gathering patient histories
2. Performing physical exams
3. Creating treatment plans
4. Diagnostics and dentistry services
5. Observing, assisting, or performing surgical procedures
6. Medical management of patients

Externs will also have opportunities to practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.

Externship durations typically range from two to eight weeks, depending on student and hospital schedules. All veterinary students, regardless of class year, are encouraged to participate in NVA externships.

Veterinary students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend. View stipend amounts and details on the stipend program.
