Abqpetcarehospital is located in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, and offers a unique externship for veterinary students to gain hands-on clinical experience in a small animal practice with dedicated professionals.
The externship ranges from two to eight weeks, providing students the ability to practice essential skills under supervision while interacting with clients and the medical team. Eligible students may also receive a stipend for travel and living expenses.
Main Street Animal Hospital is a 4-doctor small animal practice in adorable Doylestown Pennsylvania just outside of Philadelphia. We see a typical caseload but have wonderful clients who are willing to pursue diagnostics allowing a sense of fulfillment when working up medical cases.
Students will work closely with the supervising veterinarian to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creating treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry services, observing/assisting or performing surgical procedures, and medical management of patients. In addition to practicing their clinical skills, student externs will have the opportunity to practice their communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
Most externship experiences range from two to eight weeks depending on student and hospital schedules. All veterinary students (regardless of class year) are encouraged to participate in NVA externships.
