Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse Dermatology caseload with diagnostics and treatment plans.
• Collaborate with Internal Medicine, Surgery, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Anesthesia, Critical Care, and Emergency teams.
• Utilize CT and digital imaging to support complex cases when appropriate.
• Build referrals through timely communication and professional relationships.
• Support a multidisciplinary Dermatology service within Ethos Veterinary Health network.

At Bulger, you’ll work alongside specialists in Diagnostic Imaging, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Exotics, Anesthesia, and Critical Care, as well as a busy Emergency and General Practice team. This multidisciplinary environment gives you the opportunity to collaborate on complex cases, build strong referral relationships, and contribute your expertise across a diverse caseload.

Our 16,500-square-foot hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostic capabilities, including a 64-slice Toshiba Aquilion CT scanner, digital radiography, and digital dental radiography. You’ll also benefit from access to additional specialty resources through nearby Ethos hospitals, including neurology and a compounding pharmacy.

As part of Ethos Veterinary Health, you’ll have opportunities to participate in the Clinical Trial Initiative and access a comprehensive online library of veterinary journals. In your day-to-day, you will:

• Manage a diverse Dermatology caseload, providing comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients with complex dermatologic conditions.
• Develop individualized diagnostic and treatment plans that address each patient’s needs while keeping clients informed and engaged in decision‑making.
• Collaborate with specialists across Internal Medicine, Surgery, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Anesthesia, Critical Care, and Emergency Medicine to provide comprehensive care for shared patients.
• Utilize available advanced diagnostic capabilities, including CT and digital imaging, when appropriate to support complex case management.
• Build strong relationships with referring veterinarians through timely communication, thoughtful consultation, and continuity of care.
• Partner with technicians, client care teams, and hospital leadership to create an efficient and supportive Dermatology service.
• Contribute to a positive, team‑focused culture where collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning are part of everyday practice.
• Pursue professional growth through continuing education, clinical research, and opportunities available through the Ethos Veterinary Health network.
• Participate in the Ethos Clinical Trial Initiative and leverage the network’s veterinary literature resources to stay current with advances in Dermatology.
• Help grow the Dermatology service and expand access to specialty care for the hospital’s referring veterinary community.

What You Bring

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for Massachusetts state veterinary licensure.
• Board Certification in Veterinary Dermatology or Residency Trained in Veterinary Dermatology.
