We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Veterinary Dermatologist to provide advanced specialty care in a high-caseload, specialty-referral environment. The successful candidate will help develop and grow an independent Dermatology service while providing exceptional patient care, teaching, mentorship, and clinical collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive specialty care for dermatologic and otic diseases, including outpatient evaluations, diagnostic planning, medical and procedural management, and inpatient consultations as needed.
- Provide advanced otic diagnostics and therapeutics, with opportunities to perform procedures such as video-otoscopy.
- Deliver compassionate client service, including timely communication, shared decision-making, and clear written instructions.
- Communicate effectively with referring veterinarians through consultation reports, direct outreach, and professional collaboration.
- Collaborate with specialists across internal medicine, surgery, oncology, emergency/critical care, diagnostic imaging, and other services to manage complex cases.
- Teach and mentor interns, residents, and rotating trainees in clinical reasoning, procedural skills, professionalism, and communication.
- Participate in hospital rounds, resident seminars, continuing education, and other didactic teaching activities.
- Develop and/or participate in clinical research, case series, quality improvement initiatives, and scholarly activities.
- Mentor interns and residents on research projects, abstracts, presentations, and manuscripts.
- Contribute to professional and community outreach and educational initiatives.
- Participate in service development, committee work, and hospital initiatives as assigned.
- Promote a culture of collegiality, teamwork, professional citizenship, and inclusivity.
Education, Licensure, and Experience
- DVM or equivalent veterinary degree.
- Completion of an ACVD, ECVD, or AiCVD-approved residency in dermatology.
- Board-certified or board-eligible in veterinary dermatology.
- Eligibility for New York State veterinary licensure.
- Demonstrated excellence in patient care, client communication, and collaboration in a specialty referral setting.
- Commitment to teaching and mentoring within a veterinary training environment.
Preferred
- Experience or demonstrated interest in dermatology service/program development and building referral relationships.
- Clinical scholarship experience, including publications, presentations, clinical trials, outcomes research, or quality improvement.
- Advanced degree or equivalent research experience.
- Experience teaching and mentoring interns or residents.
- Experience contributing to continuing education programs.
- Interest in advanced otology diagnostics and procedures, including video-otoscopy and multidisciplinary management of complex ear disease.
