Job description

Our 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital is seeking an additional Criticalist to join our team.Avets has a focus on emergency, trauma, and critical care and is a center of medical research. Our Criticalists lead in shaping our emergency and critical care departments’ growth and are supported by board-certified specialists in Avian & Exotics, Anesthesia & Pain Management, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, and Surgery. Our team fosters a collaborative culture, supporting one another and sharing expertise.

We support education through hospital-wide specialty and internship programs, including protected time for didactic rounds and digital resources connecting our team to Ethos specialists. We are committed to reestablishing our ECC residency program within the next year. Our VTS(ECC) training coordinators oversee a comprehensive program to equip support staff with essential skills and knowledge.

  • Advanced diagnostics including CO-oximetry, digital pathology, point-of-care laboratory diagnostics, ABL blood gas, and coagulation monitoring
  • New imaging technology: 16-slice CT, 1.5 Tesla MRI, Fluoroscopy
  • Mechanical ventilation & high-flow oxygen
  • Four advanced surgery suites
  • Two isolation wards
  • Dedicated ICU for critical patients
  • In-house Blood Donor Program
