Rarebreed Veterinary Partners is seeking an experienced Veterinary Criticalist for our Westford 24/7 emergency and referral hospital in Westford, MA. The role offers a three-day work week with competitive base salary plus production earning potential, and the opportunity to contribute to innovative veterinary medicine.

As a Veterinary Criticalist, you will work in a collaborative, high-volume environment, provide advanced medical management, and help lead ICU services and staff development.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent is required.
• Board certification in Emergency and Critical Care (or eligible) required.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced medical management of critically ill and injured patients.
• Develop and oversee ICU services, workflows, and standards of care.
• Serve as a consultant and clinical leader for the ER and specialty teams.
• Establish evidence-based ICU protocols and quality assurance measures.
• Lead and support ICU staff training, mentorship, and team development.
• Guide equipment selection and implementation of advanced critical care technologies.
• Collaborate with hospital leadership on service growth, staffing, and strategic planning.
• Deliver compassionate, clear communication with clients during complex and high-acuity cases.

Education
