Job summary

Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists in Houston, Texas, is seeking a board-certified or residency-trained Veterinary Criticalist to join our collaborative Critical Care team. You will manage challenging cases in a 24/7 ICU and work with a large multidisciplinary staff of specialists and support personnel.

Qualifications

  • Board-certified or residency-trained Veterinary Criticalist.
  • Experience leading a Critical Care service and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage challenging critical cases in a 24/7 ICU setting.
  • Collaborate with emergency doctors, hospitalists, and ICU nurses to deliver exceptional patient care.
  • Mentor and train residents and staff in critical care procedures.

Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists (GCVS) is seeking a board-certified or residency-trained Veterinary Criticalist to join our collaborative, high-performing Critical Care team. With a diverse referral base, advanced technology, and a large multidisciplinary team, you'll have the opportunity to manage challenging cases while practicing alongside some of the most respected specialists in veterinary medicine.

Our Critical Care service is built to support exceptional patient care. You'll work alongside experienced emergency doctors, hospitalists, and highly trained ICU nurses in a dedicated 24/7 Intensive Care Unit and Intermediate Care Unit, allowing you to focus on the patients who need your expertise most.

Our 60,000-square-foot hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment capabilities, including MRI, CT, fluoroscopy, digital radiography, ultrasound, a fully equipped interventional radiology suite, comprehensive in-house diagnostics, and a Varian Halcyon radiation therapy system. Collaboration is part of our everyday practice, with specialists in Surgery, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Medical and Radiation Oncology, Cardiology, Anesthesiology, Radiology, Dermatology, Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation, Avian & Exotics, and more working together to deliver exceptional patient care.
